Sports Public diplomacy

Sports diplomacy is especially focused on hosting international sporting events, which have economic impact and are greatly effective in enhancing the national image. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also hosts various sporting events, such as the Korean Ambassador’s Cup Taekwondo Championship, e-sports, hockey, and the game of go, as a part of public diplomacy in order to promote people-to-people exchanges and raise awareness of Korea through sports.
