1. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Denmark will hold the opening ceremony of Jutlandia Hall set up in the Embassy and open it to the public on June 6, the ROK’s Memorial Day, after two years of work. The opening ceremony will bring together the chairman and members of the Korean War veterans association of Denmark as well as their families, officials from the Danish Red Cross, Danish government officials, Chair Lee Ji-soon of the Presidential Committee on Green Growth and Director-General for Cultural Affairs Choi Young-sam of the ROK Foreign Ministry. Also invited to the event are Ambassadors and Military Attaches to Denmark from other countries that fought alongside the ROK in the Korean War.
2. At the height of the Korean War in 1951, Denmark, for the first time among all the member states of the UN, expressed willingness to extend medical support and sent to the ROK the hospital ship Jutlandia equipped with four operating rooms and 356 beds.
3. The ROK Embassy has set up on its premises Jutlandia Hall in commemoration of the Danish hospital ship Jutlandia and in honor of the noble love for mankind of the Korean War veterans from Denmark.
