1. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nicaragua opened the “Hall of Korea (Sala de Corea)” in the main library of the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua on November 5.
2. The Sala de Corea consists of a Korean cultural heritage exhibition hall, a folk culture experience room, a reference room for Korean studies, and an audio-visual materials room. The Sala de Corea is expected to help visitors learn firsthand about the ROK’s long history and its status as a leading country in the high-tech industry and cultural powerhouse.
3. The opening of the Sala de Corea is the first case where a diplomatic mission of a country in Nicaragua installs a PR center in a university. As the Sala de Corea also functions as a library and museum, it will contribute to enhancing mutual understanding and exchanges between the two countries and their people.
o On the occasion of the opening ceremony of the Sala de Corea, the ROK Embassy in Nicaragua and the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua concluded a memorandum of understanding on strengthening cultural exchanges and cooperation. This is expected to help the two countries achieve more tangible results in their efforts to increase cultural communications.
